Bennie Dickerson, 86, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at his home. 

He was a member of Indian Springs Church of God in Ringgold and was a minister of the Gospel for over 40 years. He was passionate about his nursing home ministry where he preached and he and his wife sang.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Lynn Witzler, parents, Henry and Rady Dickerson, brothers, C. L., William and Franklin Dickerson and sisters, Bonnie Dickerson and Mary Tucker.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Violet Louise Dickerson, children, Bennie (Mary) Dickerson, Robert (Pamela) Dickerson and Charlotte (Thomas) Geppert, step-children, Diana Lynn (Olin) Berens, Michael C. Dickerson and David A. (Peggy) Dickerson, 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Reverend Max Kessler officiating. Burial will be in the Harris Chapel Cemetery, Bridgeport, Al.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Nov. 23, from 3-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
