Butler Chosen As BlueCross Vice President Of Application Development

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has selected Jennifer Butler as vice president of application development.

In this role, Ms. Butler will provide senior level leadership in application development and maintenance across all systems and technology platforms. She will report to Nick Coussoule, senior vice president and chief information officer for BlueCross.

“Jennifer has more than 25 years of experience in systems and technology along with a far-reaching and working knowledge of health plans,” said Mr.
Coussoule. “Her history and leadership will benefit BlueCross’ ongoing efforts to use technology to help manage costs, drive quality and improve service for our 3 million members.”

Ms. Butler most recently served as vice president of health plan solutions at Highmark Health Solutions, the BlueCross BlueShield affiliate company in western Pennsylvania. In that position, she was responsible for the core administrative processing suite including EDI, sales, client management, membership, claims and billing.

Ms. Butler received a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Science in Business Ethics and Leadership from Duquesne University.
