Mary Lou Wilkerson, 100, of Summerville, Georgia, died on Thursday, December 11, 2014, at the Golden Living Center.
Mrs. Wilkerson was born Jan. 14, 1914, in Jacksonville, Al., daughter of the late Henry and Ida Mae Sheffield Bramlett. She was a homemaker and a member of the Highland Avenue Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Larry Wilkerson and Billy Joe Wilkerson; and her daughter, Sue McGaskey.
Mrs. Wilkerson is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Wilkerson of Summerville, Bobby Wilkerson of California, Jerry and Jo Wilkerson of Winfield, Al., Mark Wilkerson of California, David and Edna Wilkerson of Lyerly, Ga., and Dale Wilkerson of Nashville; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren; four great-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wilkerson will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Fred Greene and Reverend James Lackey officiating. Interment will follow in the Edgemont Cemetery in Anniston, Al. Pallbearers will be sons and Tyrone and Tim Young.
Mrs. Wilkerson will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from noon until the hour of service on Friday.
