Bradley County Emergency Medical Service held their annual Christmas banquet and awards ceremony at the Church of God Communications building in Cleveland. Employees enjoyed a meal prepared by Jade Lockhart owner of Lockhart's Fire and Smoke. EMS Chief, Danny Lawson addressed those in attendance. He expressed his appreciation for everyone's hard work and encouraged those with seniority to give guidance to the younger generation of responders.
Several awards were presented to employees including tenure awards that began with employees with five years of service and as much as thirty years plus.
Todd Black and John Clines received their 30 year award. Stan Clark and Barry Snyder were recognized for 25 years and Shawn Fairbanks for 20 years. Paramedics Jade Lockhart and Charles Hudson received their 5 year awards.
The Bradley County EMS Part-Time Employee of the Year was presented to EMT Chris Ballard. The Paramedic of the Year was awarded to Paramedic Jade Lockhart. The Bradley County EMS Employee of the year was presented to a 30 year veteran paramedic, Todd Black.
The last award presented for the evening was the Bradley County EMS Call of the Year Award. The recipients of this award were; Jeff Jones, Megan Hall, Doug Evans, Luke Fisher, Shawn Fairbanks, Sean Hennessee, JR First, Tony Cochran, Nick Laney, Jeff Spence, Troy Thornton, and Chuck Payne.
"This is a special time of year for our EMS families to come together and spend time together and recognize the hard work and sacrifice that these EMT's and paramedics make everyday." said Stan Clark, EMS spokesperson.
