White County Whips Ooltewah, 68-52, In Prep Hoops

Warriors Outscore Owls, 21-5, In Fourth Quarter

White County used a fourth-quarter technical foul to pull away from Ooltewah and post a 68-52 non-district basketball victory Monday night in Sparta.

The Owls and Warriors were tied 48-48 when Edward Hayes was hit with a technical foul. The Warriors made two free throws and 3-point shot and outscored Ooltewah, 20-4, down the stretch.

Jared Boyd led Ooltewah (3-3) with 18 points and Hayes finished with 13.

“Both teams played hard,” Owls coach Andre Montgomery said.

“We can’t get rattled in a situation like that (technical). It was a great atmosphere up there and I’m proud of the guys for fighting all the way. We just have to hold our composure.”

Cordell Henderson paced the Warriors with 21 points and Cole Vaughn added 12.
