Review for The Velveteen Rabbit:

Be transported back to your childhood when you experience this classic come alive on stage. The Velveteen Rabbit is a well-loved story about a little boy stricken with scarlet fever and the bond he shares with his favorite toy. Watch as toys come to life throughout this magical and heart-warming tale.

ETC's production of The Velveteen Rabbit is a family affair.  Not only is the closing production of the season intended for youth and family, the cast of 13 is primarily made up of family members from three local families.

"It's an excellent opportunity for families to spend time together doing what they love." says Artistic Director Garry Posey.

The cast includes Micah Ford as the title character.  Her mother Michelle plays Nana and her sister Darrah plays one of the real rabbits.  Rafe West plays Alex, the little boy to whom the Velveteen Rabbit belongs.  His mother, Kate, plays the Nurse, older sister Anna plays Bulka- the rag puppy doll, and his younger sister Brooke plays another of the real rabbits.  The third family, the Carpenters, include sisters Eliza (Timothy the toy lion), Cheyenne (the Toy Fairy and Scarlet Fear) along with younger brother Liam (real rabbit).  Rounding out the cast is Jeremy Wilkins, Bridgett Bryant and Miley Young.  The show is directed by Deb Meeks and stage managed by Abby Cox.

General admission tickets will be $10. Grandparents are free with a paying child. Tickets will be for sale at the box office or also by calling 602-8640.  Subsidized tickets are also available for large groups of underserved youth through a grant from the Jordan Blain Guess Foundation.  Jordan was a 20-year-old actor with ETC, both on the mainstage and with the youth and family programming, who passed away this fall, a victim of a tragic car accident, call or email garryposey@gmail.com for more information.   Free parking is available at the Eastgate Town Center.
