GPS Lacrosse Has Comeback Win Against Baylor

GPS lacrosse team rallied for a 12-6 win against visiting Baylor (4-3) Monday in the Bruisers first home match of the season. 

GPS (3-3) trailed 4-2 at halftime, but outscored the Red Raiders 10-2 in the second half.

GPS Goals - Carly Bourne (5), Katie Morgan (2), Alex George (2), Haden Gibbons, Blakley Fine and Lindsay Rufolo

Anna Claire Pierce – 5 ground ball controls

Emily Cullum – 3 ground ball controls  

Raygan Hall had 5 saves in goal for a 45 percent save percentage.

Baylor Goals:  Megan Daniel, Natalie Daniel, Cameron Hinch, Zoey Young, Lainee Bohannon, and Emma Stutts. Goalkeeper Ashleigh Cook had 13 saves.

GPS coaches Caroline Carlin and Jess Thornton said, "Trailing at the half was a reality check for our team. Their ability to put the first 25 minutes behind them and start fresh in the second half was impressive.

 "Our defense worked diligently to cause turnovers and recover possession. Offensively, the girls were poised  as they continued to look for connections and opportunities. We always know we are going to get a good game when we play Baylor. We look forward to playing them again in April."

The sport has gained two new teams in the area (Signal Mountain and East Brainerd club, plus CGLA is to come),
