A 73-year-old man charged with a Tullahoma bank robbery asked Federal Magistrate Judge Susan K. Lee during a hearing if he could go back to the Coffee County Jail, saying the federal marshals would not allow him to have his Fixodent for his dentures.

Jackie Wayne Ferrell, a retiree from Manchester, said jail officials told him he did not need to have his teeth glued in.

Magistrate Lee said prison regulations are out of her control.

She told Ferrell, who has previous convictions, "You've been through the federal system on bank robbery before.

I think you know how this works."

According to police and employees, back in February, Ferrell walked into the Citizens Tri-County Bank wearing a mask and pulled out a gun, demanding money.

Currently, his trial is scheduled for June 3 in the courtroom of Judge Sandy Mattice. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
