The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has obtained indictments and an arrest in the case of the disappearance of Holly Bobo.

On April 13, 2011, Holly Bobo disappeared from her home on Swan Johnson Road between 7:40 a.m. and 8 a.m. The TBI, along with local and federal authorities, has spent several hundreds of manpower hours on the investigation. There have also been hundreds of ground and warrant searches conducted.

There was a $25,000 reward offered from the community, an $85,000 reward offered from a government and private citizen reward fund, a $100,000 reward offered from a Memphis private citizen for a self-surrender and lastly a $250,000 reward offered for Ms. Bobo’s safe return.

After receiving credible information which led the TBI to obtain search warrants for various locations last week, enough evidence and information were collected to prompt the district attorney to solicit a special grand jury. On Wednesday, at 2 p.m., a special Decatur County Grand Jury convened to hear case presentation from a TBI special agent. After the session, the grand jury returned indictments on Zachary Rye Adams, 29, of Parsons, Tn.

He was charged with felony first-degree murder and especially aggravated kidnapping. He is being held in the Chester County Jail with no bond for these charges.

Adams was officially served Wednesday afternoon at the jail. The district attorney general, Hansel McAdams, will prosecute this case. The investigation is active and ongoing. Evidence collected and leads developed from recent search warrant executions are being examined. The possibility of additional suspects in the case exists.

The motive and circumstances surrounding Ms. Bobo’s disappearance are being investigated. Information from the public is still welcomed and encouraged. Anyone with information on this case, is asked to call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND (1-800-824-3463).

Ms. Bobo was a 20-year-old nursing student when she was led away from her home at Parsons, Tn., in April 2011. Her brother said he saw a man in camouflage leading her into the woods. Parsons is about 110 miles southwest of Nashville.

Adams was first taken into custody on Monday on another case in which he is charged with putting a gun to a woman's head at his home on Feb. 6 and threatening to "gut" her with a knife.

Authorities have been carrying out an extensive search at the Adams' property, which is about 15 miles from the Bobo home.
