The Board of Parole, the Department of Correction and TRICOR will pay tribute to victims of crime in east Tennessee Friday morning through a tree-planting ceremony in Chattanooga.  During the event, a local advocate who works with crime victims will also be honored.

The event will be held at 10 a.m. at First Tennessee Pavilion. In case of rain, the event will move to the auditorium of the state office building at 540 McCallie St.

This event is one of eight tree planting ceremonies sponsored by the three criminal justice agencies across Tennessee this week.
Additional events are taking place in Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville, Murfreesboro, Clarksville, Jackson and Bristol.
