Downey Plans To Build 95 New Homes At Black Creek

  • Tuesday, April 8, 2014

Tim Downey, the new developer at Black Creek in Lookout Valley, is planning to construct 95 new single-family homes just off Cummings Road.

He is seeking approval for a new Planned Unit Developer on a 62-acre site.

Officials said 70 percent of the site (44 acres) will remain open space.

The density will be 1.52 units per acre.

The proposed PUD includes sidewalks, alleys, landscaping, andstreet trees.

The site is accessed from a residential road, River Gorge Drive, with one curb cut to act as an entrance and exit.

River Gorge Drive is the old Aetna Mountain Road.

The new development is just beyond the current end of the reconstructed road. It is planned to continue the development on up the road and to a wide expanse on the top of Aetna Mountain.

The Regional Planning Agency staff is recommending approval.
