Juvenile Court Launches Video Hearings

  • Tuesday, July 22, 2014

Juvenile Court on Tuesday morning initiated the court's very first video hearing from the court on Third Street with two cases involving inmates at CCA-Silverdale.

Officials said the new technological advancement "will now save the Sheriff’s Office and CCA the staff time and fuel costs associated with transports while at the same time increasing the security of our court and the general public by not moving prisoners when we can use technology to accomplish the task.

"It is a real win-win project."

Juvenile Court Clerk Gary Behler said he proposed the idea and Judge Rob Philyaw "was completely on board with it when he was appointed Juvenile Court judge.  We are making great changes at Juvenile Court."
