Ronnie Williams
Ronnie Williams, 68, of Hixson, died on Friday, August 15, 2014.
A native of Chesterfield, S.C., he had lived here since 1964. He was retired from Norfolk Southern after 36 years of distinguished service. Ronnie served in the Army Reserve and was a member of the American Legion. Ronnie was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, Ely Road and was an avid Dodger and Alabama fan. He was a much-loved father, grandfather, husband and a devoted friend. He will be forever in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, S.E. and Odessa Williams, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors are his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara; three daughters, Lyn Williams Robertson, Shannon Williams Perkins and Alyson Williams; brother, Billy (Sue) Williams; sister-in-law, Jean Williams; five grandchildren, Trey, Will and Sam Robertson, Chloe Rack and Drew Perkins; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 18, in the chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Pastor Pat Baze officiating. Burial is in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17, and one hour before services on Monday at Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace, 423-877-3524.
