Kohatha DeLoach Culpepper, 87, of Cleveland, TN, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, August 17, 2014.
Mrs. Culpepper was born May 10,1927. She became a Christian as a child and dedicated her life to the ministry of Jesus Christ. She was married to the Reverend J. Frank Culpepper and together they served the Church of God for 34 years, until his death in 1984. After her husband’s death she traveled and spoke in revivals, conferences, seminars and camp meetings until her early 80’s. Her family, the Bible, prayer and the Church of God were the priorities of her life. She sowed the seeds of life that will continue to bring forth a harvest for generations to come.
She is survived by one son Dr. Raymond F. Culpepper and daughter-in-law Peggy of Birmingham; one daughter, Mrs. Kathy Darlene Haas, also of Birmingham; four grandchildren, Mr. Raymond F. Culpepper II, and his wife, Caroline of Cleveland, Mrs. Elizabeth Dawn Burroughs and her husband Josef of Calera, AL, Mr. Adam Haas of Birmingham and Mrs. Jessica Michelle Baird and her husband Reverend Adam Baird of Cartersville, GA; five great-grandchildren, Katlyn Burroughs, Beckner Culpepper, Clinton Culpepper, Evaliese Baird and Collin Baird; one sister, Helen Clements of Alabaster, AL; and two brothers, Charles DeLoach of Sarasota, FL and Oden DeLoach of Inverness, FL.
A Celebration of the Life and Home Going of Kohatha Culpepper was held Wednesday, August 20, at the North Cleveland Church of God.
There will also be a service held Thursday, August 21, at 11 a.m. at the Sardis Baptist Church in Lake Park, Georgia followed by Interment in the Carter Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
