Ben Vaughn, Jr., age 78, of the Dawnville Community in Dalton, GA, passed away Monday, August 25, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Mattie Vaughn; and brother, Richard Vaughn.
He was of the Baptist faith and a Veteran of the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Vaughn, of the residence; sisters and brothers-in-law, Arvil and Vivian Postell of Gadsden, AL, Terry and Geraldine Mantooth of Dalton, Ray and Betty Smith of Chatsworth and James Smith of Atlanta; special friend, Liz Mantooth; his special dog, “Gizmo”; and nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 28 at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home, with Rev. Randy Postell, Rev. Terry Mantooth, Rev. Charlie Hamm officiating. Burial will be West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 28 from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2 p.m.
