Jerry L. Phillips, 68, of Ringgold, died on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born on Sept. 20, 1945, to the late Foster and Marie Brown Phillips in Chattanooga. His passions in life were spending time with his grandson, coin collecting, being active in the SASS Shooting Club, and enjoyed watching television with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Jeffery “Scotty” Phillips.

Survivors include his wife Lynnda Cooper Phillips of Ringgold, stepdaughters, Kristy Swearengin of Ringgold, and Lisa (Robert) Tennant of Ringgold, sister, Reeann Phillips of Fort Oglethorpe, and grandson, Austin Lee of Ringgold.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff of Amedisys Hospice for the love and care shown to Mr. Phillips and the family.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, Aug. 29, at 1 p.m. at Lakewood Memory Gardens South.

The family will receive friends on Friday, from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
