Susan Eileen Miller, 83, of Fort Oglethorpe, died on Tuesday, September 16, 2014.

She was born in Key, Ky., but had lived in the North Georgia area for the last 30 years and was of the Christian faith. She had previously managed the Lakeshore Apartments for 10 years, as well as the Savannah Springs Apartments for another 10 years.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include her loving husband of more than 63 years, Orville "Ray" Miller; children, Crystal Ann and (Stephen) Day, Brenda and (Greg) Rodriquez, Kent and (Debbie) Miller, Bev and (Phil) Boggs, Tammy and (Robert) Surgener, Stan Miller, Brian and (Emma) Miller, Amy and (Todd) Davey and Scott Miller; 29 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; special friends, Denny and Carol Bolin and Don and Joyce Mers, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Minister Denny Bolin officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
