House Passes Bills To Lower Energy Costs, Provide Jobs

  • Thursday, September 18, 2014

Rep. Chuck Fleischmann applauded the passage of two separate pieces of legislation aimed at providing Americans relief from high energy costs and encouraging job creation.

“Traveling across the 3rd District and talking to constituents has made it clear that the American people are hungry for common sense solutions that will get our country moving forward,” said Rep. Fleischmann. “By passing these two bills this evening, the House has sent a message that we have heard the American people loud and clear and are willing to do the serious work our country deserves. Hopefully, the leadership in the United States Senate will stop playing political games and give these bills the vote they need.”

The American Energy Solutions for Lower Costs and More American Jobs Act includes a number of provisions to improve national infrastructure, allow for the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline, and continue the fight for energy independence. Additionally, the legislation contains language to stop the actions of the Obama Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency.

The Jobs for America Act consists of bills that will support job creation through methods like streamlining regulations, encouraging the hiring of American veterans, and providing relief for small businesses from Obamacare, said officials.
