UTC's Webb - National Player Of The Week

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga redshirt freshman defensive back Lucas Webb grabbed some national attention for his play against Samford this weekend.  He was named the Week 5 National Defensive Player of the Week by College Sports Madness.

Webb, a native of Northport, Ala., had two interceptions in the Mocs’ 38-24 win over Samford at Finley Stadium on Saturday.  Webb’s first pick came in the first quarter and led to a UTC field goal.  His second takeaway came in the fourth, and the ensuing touchdown sealed the win for the 14th-ranked Mocs (2-2, 1-0, SoCon). 

It was the second game in a row Webb scored a takeaway.
 His three picks lead the SoCon and rank No. 6 in the FCS.  He also added five tackles in the win over the Bulldogs (2-2, 1-1 SoCon). 

HOMECOMING - Chattanooga now turns its attention to Homecoming against VMI.  The Mocs host the Keydets on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 4 p.m. (E.D.T.) at Finley Stadium.  Tickets are on sale now on GoMocs.com, or by calling the UTC Ticket Office at (423) 266-MOCS (6627).
