Basketball, Wrestling Mocs Host Ball N' Brawl

  • Monday, September 29, 2014

It’s party time in the Scenic City. Chattanooga’s team is sending some of its best to close down 3rd Street on Friday, October 10, for Ball N’ Brawl. This inaugural event features the men’s and women’s basketball programs along with the wrestling team.

“This was an idea coaches Heath Eslinger (wrestling) and Will Wade (men’s basketball) came up with,” Director of Marketing and Promotions Geoff Wilcox said. “It is a great celebration of our student-athletes bringing awareness to their seasons which are getting ready to start.”

Third Street will be closed between Market and Broad. Wrestling mats will take up that space, while the basketball venue covers the parking lot adjacent to 3rd Street; court courtesy of Praters Flooring.
At 5 p.m., wrestling starts a clinic while youth basketball scrimmages. There are events running until 7 p.m., incorporating all three programs in an engaging, interactive manner. Clear Channel is planning a live remote from one of its stations and YCAP’s Boxing Club is involved, along with a live DJ on site.

Season tickets are available for the 2014-15 campaign. Home games include visits from Georgia and UAB among others on the men’s side, while the Mocs women host Tennessee and Stanford among their 14 home dates. Wrestling grapples Purdue and Oklahoma during its six-match slate while bringing an elite field to the Southern Scuffle at New Year’s.

Go to gomocs.com for tickets or call the ticket office at (423) 266-MOCS (6627) to order season tickets.
