Hamilton County Gears Up For Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

  • Friday, January 16, 2015

The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk of Hamilton County will be held on Oct. 25 at a to be determined location. This 5K walk raises awareness and funds to support the society’s mission to help finish the fight against breast cancer.

Local ACS Board Chair and cancer survivor Joel Henderson remains excited about this annual event and opportunity to walk alongside family, friends, caregivers, and other survivors. “I am thrilled that the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer benefit is taking place once again here in our community," said Mr. Henderson.  "It has been truly amazing getting involved with others who share my passion in raising money and awareness with the shared goal to crush cancer within our lifetime. I sincerely hope this event will bring us one step closer to a cure and help to ensure that others will not have to go through the battle which so many have and continue to fight through."

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, uniting nearly 300 communities to raise awareness and funds to end breast cancer. Dollars raised from the noncompetitive events help the society invest in breast cancer research and provide free information and services for women who need them.

This event is open to the public and volunteers are also needed to ensure this year’s Making Strides event is a success.
