Baylor Wrestlers Edge Father Ryan, 30-25

The state's top-ranked Baylor Red Raider wrestling team secured the top seed in the D-II East Middle Region Friday nght at McCallie with wins against  No.2 Father Ryan (30-25) and No.6 MBA (36-18).

In the Baylor-Ryan match, a key win for Baylor was at 138 as Michael Murphy defeated Eli King, 8-4 in a battle of state champs.

Baylor (2-0) hosts  No.7 McCallie next Friday and even if Ryan beats MBA Sat.

Jan 24 and finishes 2-1 and McCallie defeats Baylor, the Red Raiders would win the region due to beating Ryan head-to-head.

The D-II state duals will be held in Franklin, Tenn. Jan 30-31.
