Williams, Helen Elizabeth Willerson

Helen Elizabeth Willerson Williams, beloved wife and mother, died peacefully at her home in Ooltewah, Tennessee, on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015. 

Born in 1931 to William and Dovie Elrod Willerson in Georgia,  she and her family moved to Tennessee when she was a young girl.

Years later, she met her future husband while visiting Florida in 1949.  It was the beginning of a budding romance that lasted over 62 years.  Raising two children, she worked tirelessly both in and outside the home. She was a longtime employee of Couch’s BBQ and Ooltewah Elementary School.  But more importantly, she was a child of God.  An active member of Calvary Life Fellowship and Ooltewah Church of God over the 73 years, Helen was involved with the musical services and serving her Lord in any capacity possible.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Grace Ridley and brothers, Harris Willerson, Willard Willerson and J.B. Willerson, all were loved by her tremendously.

Helen is survived by her husband, Charles V. Williams; son, Steven Williams; daughter, Stacy Williams; grandson, Tyler Williams; daughter- in- law, Sherry Williams; granddaughter, Carrie Lewis; great-granddaughters, Catilyn Durham and Anna Cox, two great great-grandsons; sisters, Lillian Harmon, Margie Forgey and Edna Gibson; brothers, Bill Willerson and Bob Willerson; many brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Bob Willerson officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
