Chattanooga-based PlayCore, a leading designer, manufacturer, and marketer of a broad range of play and recreation products, on Monday announced the acquisition of Power Systems.
Founded in 1986, Power Systems "is recognized throughout the sports and fitness industries for its superior selection of fitness, strength training, and sports conditioning products."
The acquisition will continue PlayCore's growth in the fitness market, officials said.
Day-to-day operations will continue from Power Systems' facility in Knoxville, and will be supported by the management team in PlayCore's Chattanooga office.
Bob Farnsworth, president and CEO of PlayCore, said, "Our growth story continues to evolve with strategic acquisitions that extend our reach and add value to our customers, and we are excited about this opportunity to increase our presence in the fitness market. The company aligns greatly with PlayCore's mission and values based culture, is an important new opportunity for us, and supports our mission of building communities through play and recreation."
"We are excited about this next phase for Power Systems," added Bruno Pauletto, Power Systems' founder, "as well as the opportunity for growth as part of the PlayCore family of brands."
