Leadership Demands Wise Allocation Of Resources - And Response

  • Friday, October 16, 2015

As a long time reader of the posts on Chattanooga.com, the muses of the last two weeks require some straight forward statements to be made before our local community falls prey to the goofy mindset spreading across this great country:

Most importantly, Sharia Law is a scourge on the world and must be opposed with all the energy that we can muster as a free people.  It is the most dangerous threat to our nation and freedom loving people around the globe today.  Yes, the U.S.

is a pluralistic nation but Sharia Law is a direct violation to the U.S. Constitution no matter how liberal a view you hold.

Locally, the bike lanes on Broad Street are onerous, dangerous and an example of well-intended activists going too far.  Seniors rarely even come downtown today because of a lack of parking and access to our great restaurants/businesses.  We should care more about our seniors than we do.

The Arts/Build proposal is insane.  If we tax anything locally, the money should go directly into public education because that is the most important investment we can and should make at the local level.  Crime/gang activity is a growing problem in Chattanooga. The best way to address this problem is to strengthen our families and our public education system.

We have so much to be proud of in Chattanooga, but leadership demands wise allocation of resources and a shared vision of what a vibrant community should embrace.

I agree with Zach Wamp 100 percent.  I am a senior, and I would rather take a beating than go downtown.
