Willie Ashley Jr. 85, of Cochran, Georgia, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015.  

Willie Ashley Jr., retired from U S Pipe in 1992, after 41 years of service.

Willie accepted Christ early in life. He attended Mt. Caanan Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pastor Josie Stanley; his sister, Pastor Irene (Stanley) Thomas; brother, Joshua Melvin of Chattanooga; and father-in-law, Edward Witt of Chattanooga.

Survivors include a loving wife, Angela Ashley; children, Warren Ashley, William Tucker, Andrew Eugene Ashley and Malikk Jer’Michael Ashley, all of Chattanooga; daughters, Courtney (Darrin) Jackson of Va., Adsonnia (Michael) Whalen of Chattanooga; son, Willie L. “Billy” (Virginia) Ashley of Chattanooga; grandsons, Clive Brownville, Jr., Caelan Brownwille both of Virginia, Bruce Ashley, Eugene Ashley, Steven Ashley and Alvin Ashley all of Chattanooga; sisters, Queenie Melvin Speight of Willingboro, N.J. and Northia Beatrice Murchison of Greensboro, N.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m., at Taylor Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie-in-state Wednesday from 10 a.m. until noon.  Interment will be in Tyner Cemetery.
