Ursula Stanifer
Ursula Gertrude Berneberg Stanifer, 76, of Rock Spring, Georgia, died on Sunday, November 8, 2015.
She was born in Straubing, Germany to the late Eckard Berneberg and Edith Christina Winter Berneberg Beck. She had resided in the Chattanooga and Northwest Georgia area for the past 46 years. She was a former employee of Brock Candy Company in Chattanooga, and had also worked as a waitress at several local restaurants. She was a former member of Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd in Chattanooga. She was an auxiliary member of the V.F.W. and American Legion Posts in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia where she enjoyed playing Bingo and at The E.L.K.S. Club in LaFayette as well. She enjoyed crocheting and had made many blankets for various charity organizations. She also enjoyed reading, playing scrabble, taking bus trips and traveling around the Southeast area.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, App Stanifer.
She is survived by her longtime friend and companion, Joanne McClure of Rock Spring, son, Jacob (Conni) Stanifer of Chattanooga, granddaughter, Krystle Stanifer, great-grandson, Graeson Ray, both of Carrollton, Ga., siblings, Joan (Charles) Cole, Lorna (Ed) Dorn, all of Maryland, Eva (Brin) Hendrix, of Lakesite, Tn., Donald (Darlene) E. Beck, Jr., of Lawrenceville, Ga., Robert (Linda) Beck of Norcross, Ga., Charlotte (Mitchell) Horton, of Chattanooga, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15, in the chapel with Pastor George Palmer officiating.
