Our family wants to publicly thank Dr. Dashon Naik, hospitalist at CHI Memorial, Chattanooga. Our mother, Mary Wilson, was recently admitted and Dr. Naik was her attending physician.
Every single day his visits brightened her day. He was never in a hurry and sat beside her and respectfully held her hand as he explained everything to us.
One late night, the lab tech came in to draw her blood. Dr. Naik happened to be in the hallway and came in and told the tech not to draw the blood and instead not to disturb her and let her sleep, that it could wait. After he left, the tech told me 'that's commendable for him to do that, most don't go to that trouble.
He made a terrible, fatiguing stay for our dear one with dementia so much better. Also, he never left rounds without telling us a joke.....that reminds me, I need to go to the bookstore and find that dear man a joke book.
I know that each one of us wishes we had a physician like Dr. Naik.
