Blood Assurance Locations Announce Delays For Tuesday

Some Blood Assurance offices will delay opening until 9 a.m. Tuesday, due to inclement weather.  The decision was made for the safety of the Blood Assurance employees and donors in the area.  

The closing affects only the Blood Assurance centers listed below: 

Chattanooga, Tennessee –East 4th Street Chattanooga, TN 37403-1916 (Across From UTC McKenzie Arena) 
Abingdon, Virginia -16000 Johnston Memorial Dr. (Inside Johnston Memorial Hospital) 
Cleveland, Tennessee -2855 Keith Street NW (Across from Tractor Supply Company) 
Dalton, Georgia  -785 Shugart Rd. (In the Shoppes on Shugart shopping plaza near Walmart)
East Brainerd (Chattanooga, Tennessee) 1740 Gunbarrel Rd (Behind FSG Bank) 
Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia - 2720 Lafayette Rd. (Yellow Building next to Sear's Shoes) 
North River (Hixson, Tennessee) -1920 Northpoint Blvd., Suite A (Behind Lowe's)
Rome, Georgia - 178 Shorter Avenue Northwest, Suite 168 (Midtown Crossing)  

In addition,  Cookeville, Tenn. - 155 W Broad Street (Across from the Depot) will open at 10 a.m., all other centers will operate on their normal hours. 

Bad weather is especially hard on the blood supply as it prevents donors from coming to the Blood Assurance centers as well as the cancellation of blood drives at schools and businesses.
Blood Assurance is based in Chattanooga. Blood and blood components are supplied to 74 healthcare facilities in 51 counties in the area served by Blood Assurance.  Over 540 volunteer blood donors are needed every day in order to adequately supply the hospitals served by Blood Assurance.
