First Public Presentation Set On New Transit Center

  • Thursday, February 19, 2015

The first public presentation on the planned new Chattanooga Transit Center will be Friday at a District 6 Summit organized by City Councilwoman Carol Berz.

It will be from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the Wilson Air Center at the Airport.

Lisa Maragnano, CARTA executive director, said the planning team from the Knoxville firm of CDM will be in Chattanooga for several days next week for one-on-one meetings with key stakeholders.

CARTA board members recently made a field trip to inspect the Knoxville Transit Center, which has been in operation for several years.

CARTA officials plan to change the advertising policy to allow services to be advertised as bus wrappers.

Tobacco products will not be advertised.

The CARTA employee appreciation banquet will be April 19 at the Chattanooga Choo Choo.

CARTA officials will make a presentation to the City Council next Tuesday.
