Navy Veteran Was Longtime Dentist In Highway 58 Area

William T. Kelley, DDS, 82, longtime resident of the Chattanooga area, died at Life Care Center of Red Bank. 

He was a Navy veteran during Korean conflict where he was a hospital corpsman and practiced dentistry in the Highway 58 area for 40 years. Dr. Kelley was a lifetime member of the American Dental Association, Chattanooga Area Society, BASS and the Tennessee Dental Association. He was also a member of the National Association of Eagle Scouts, Sons of the American Revolution and  Sons of the Confederacy.  William was an Honorary Tennessee Colonel and a continental scuba diver. He had a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Tennessee in Medical Technology and was an ASCP lab technologist.

Survivors include his son, Kevin Kelley; daughter, Laura Kelley; and grandson, Scott Kelley, all of Florida.  He will be missed by many, lifelong friends, Dr. Benton F. Spangler, DDS, Mr. John Echols, Lee Luck and Terry Williams, to name a few.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 9, in Chattanooga National Cemetery at 1200 Bailey Avenue. 

Memorial contributions may be made to  the Boy Scouts of America.
