Emily McLennan‘s 2-over par 74 led the Chattanooga Mocs in today’s second round at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic. Chattanooga’s five combined to shoot 305 on Oak Point Golf Club and stand in sixth-place with 18 holes to play.
“Emily played well,” said coach Colette Murray. “We all feel like we left a lot out there on the course today, but we still have one more day.”
McLennan had three birdies on her card and is tied for eighth at +2. Her 146 is five strokes behind leader Laura Fuenfstueck (CofC) at -3.
Samford’s Bailey Gray is in second at -2 (142).
The trio of Agathe Sauzon, Cris Perez and Isabella Loza shot matching 77’s. Sauzon is one behind McLennan, tied for 11th at 147 (+3). DeeDee Russell had the drop score with a 79 (+7).
Chattanooga is in fifth-place at 301. It trails leader UNF (297) by five. Troy is in second at 298, while College of Charleston and Western Carolina are tied for third at 300.
College of Charleston took the lead with an even-par 288. Its +12 total of 588 Is 10 shots clear of Troy (598) in second. UNF is in third at 601.
The final round
Tuesday takes the Mocs back to Osprey Point Golf Course. The
