Dr. Ernest Minges, 84, of Lookout Mountain, born in Hebbronville, Texas, on February 8, 1931, died on Saturday, March 21, 2015.

Survivors include his wife, Maria of 57 years; daughter, Tamara (Rob) Vance; grandchildren, Scott and Sarah Vance; son, E.A. (Sherri) Minges, D.D.S.; granddaughter, Jaclyn Minges.

Dr. Minges served in the United States Army during the Korean War stationed at Seventh Army Headquarters in Germany, in the Signal Corps.

He practiced dental surgery (general) for over 40 years in Hixson. Dr. Minges was a member of the Royal Society of Health and in 2000 received from the Chattanooga Area Dental Society the Thomas E. Braly, Sr. Memorial Achievement Award in recognition of Faithful Service to the Science and Art of Dentistry and devotion to his patients.

He loved his family, pets, profession and country of his birth, The United States of America.

A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 28.
