Jo Ann Banks
Jo Ann Banks, 77, entered eternal rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 16, 2025, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
"JoJo", as she was affectionately called by those who knew and loved her, was born on July 25, 1948, in Chattanooga, to the late Jimmy T. Banks and Emma J. Banks. She was raised in the Fort Cheatham Community and graduated from Riverside High School, class of 1966. She was a steadfast and dedicated member of the New Home Baptist Church, and was faithfully employed as the church's finance secretary, until the day of her passing. She was also devoted to the church's Senior Saints and Kitchen Ministries.
JoJo was preceded in death by both of her parents; her brother, Robert W. Banks, Sr.; her beloved uncle and aunt, Eddie B. Osborne and Mary Osborne.
She leaves to cherish precious and loving memories, her nephew, Robert Wayne Banks, Jr.; niece, DeNiqua Kathy Banks; four great nieces, Raven Olivia Banks, Daija Kaleigha Banks, Trinity Mae Banks, and Amor Zoel Banks; two great nephews, Amir Jaceon Dwuye and Robert Omari Banks; beloved church family, Pastor G.M. and Tavis Spotts and the New Home Baptist Church, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will begin at 10 a.m., on Thursday, Aug. 28, followed by the funeral service at noon, at Greater New Home Baptist Church, located at 2809 13th Ave., with Pastor G. M. Spotts officiating.
Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
