Donald B. “Don” Strutton
Donald B. “Don” Strutton, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
He was born on March 13, 1936, in Wartburg, Tn., to the late Lonzo and Eula Strutton. He was the mayor of 15th Ave. in Chattanooga. He was the past president of the East Lake Chapter of the Lions Club. Don was an avid hunter and fisherman. He coached girls softball and boys baseball at the local recreation center.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 63 years, Barbara Ann Strutton; his son, David Blaine Strutton; two sisters, Wanda Strutton and Rena Owensby.
Those left to cherish his sweet memory are his daughter, Dana (James) McCoy; grandchildren, Jessica (Chase) Debter; Thomas McCoy, and Chelsey (Jimmy) Tucker; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Ashlynne, and Allie Debter and also Annalee and Charlie Tucker; his siblings, Roger (Betty) Strutton, Kenny (Lola) Strutton, and Saundra Sherrill; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.

A chapel service will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home in Rossville, with interment to follow at Lakewood Memory Garden East in Chattanooga.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home in Rossville. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Don’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
