The NJCAA and the TCCAA announced their academic awards for the 2024-25 academic year. Twenty-one athletes were awarded certificates by the NJCAA while the Cleveland State baseball team was also recognized for their success in the classroom. The TCCAA recognized a total of 32 athletes for their work in the classroom.
The NJCAA names three teams. The first team is awarded to athletes with a 4.0 GPA. Eight athletes made that team with Jacob Cooper, Ty Denton, Turner Junkins, Logan Ozias, and Dylan Owens of the baseball team along with softball players Destini Jensen & Carissa Montgomery, and Jayla Gillespie of the volleyball team. Athletes who maintained a GPA of 3.80-3.99 were named to the second team. Recognized on the second team were Adam Baker and Brody Casteel of the baseball team as well asd Camerin Wade of the softball team. Those making the third team has a GPA of 3.60-3.79. Nate Severance, Riley Mahan, Calep Gipson, Nate Dunfee, and Braden Suggs of the baseball team. Also selected were Josiah Marsh of the men's basketball team, Ava Layne, Charley Patton, and Brooklyn Deaver of the softball team along with Elanee Cotter of the volleyball team.
The NJCAA also recognized the Cleveland State baseball team for having a team GPA of 3.17.
The TCCAA also announces three teams with the aformentioned athletes with a 4.0 GPA named to the Diamond team. The First team was an athlete who maintained a GPA of 3.60-3.99. All of the athletes above were recognized along with Kaydence Houston of the volleyball team as well as Evan Goins & Will Phipps of the baseball team. Athletes with a GPA from 3.00-3.59 were named to the Second team. Will Webb, Jeremy Crider, Parker Coe, and Ryan Long made the second team from the baseball team. Joining them were Jeremiah Hayes from the men's basketball team, Ziara Thompson who competed in both volleyball and women's basketball, Layla Pettigrew from the softball team, and Carson Minish from the men's golf team.
