Morning Pointe of Owensboro Assisted Living officially celebrated its grand opening, marking a new era of senior care in western Kentucky.
Officials said, "The $2.5 million renovation, paired with a perfect, deficiency-free health licensure survey, has transformed the community into a place where compassionate care meets exceptional living.
"From ribbon-cutting to guided tours, live music and delicious hors d’oeuvres, the day brought together hundreds of residents, families, neighbors and leaders."
Mayor Tom Watson praised the project as “a first-class place” and emphasized the importance of caring for those “who took care of this city when we were little.”
State Senator Gary Boswell, State Representative DJ Johnson and Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Claude Bacon also highlighted the positive impact on Owensboro’s seniors and economy.
Officials said, "Designed for seniors seeking the right balance of independence and support, the updated community offers spacious apartments, engaging programs and Farm-to-Table dining—all in a bright, uplifting atmosphere.
For the first time, Morning Pointe of Owensboro now provides comprehensive assisted living services, thanks to Kentucky’s updated state regulations, including 24/7 licensed nurse, clinical or care staff coverage, on-site medical and therapy coordination, regular nurse assessments, certified medication administration, dietitian-reviewed menus and CPR/emergency readiness training."
Executive Director Karleigh Roby called the opening “an exciting new chapter” for residents, associates and the community, noting her gratitude for “the incredible support we’ve received from Owensboro.”
Co-Founder Greg A. Vital noted the overwhelming turnout and the strong community reception.
“Owensboro has given us a tremendous welcome,” he said. “We’re here to stay, to strengthen our presence in Kentucky, and to continue adding more communities in the future.”
For families like that of John Gleason, whose grandfather has lived in the building for years, the change in ownership has brought reassurance. “Since Morning Pointe became the owner, we’ve felt a sense of stability,” he said, praising the associates who “go the extra mile every day.”
"Morning Pointe of Owensboro currently provides 40 jobs in Daviess County and contributes more than $15 million annually through local partnerships, payroll and the purchase of goods and services," officials said.
It is one of 13 Morning Pointe locations in Kentucky and part of a family of 42 assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care communities across the Southeast.
