District 5 Flood Relief Donation Drive Is Saturday

  • Friday, August 15, 2025

In response to the historic flooding that impacted numerous neighborhoods across the city, Councilman Dennis Clark is launching a Flood Relief Donation Drive to support affected families and seniors in District 5.

The drive will take place on Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Brainerd High School, 1020 N. Moore Road.

Community members are encouraged to drop off urgently needed items to help their neighbors get back on their feet. The most requested items include:

Cleaning supplies, trash bags, and damp aid

Hygiene products (shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, body wash, etc.)

Diapers, baby wipes, and feminine products

New socks and underwear (adult and children)

School supplies and storage totes

Non-perishable food, bottled water, and paper products

Laundry detergent and paper towels

“This is about coming together when our neighbors need us the most,” said Councilman Clark. “Our seniors and vulnerable families have been hit hard, and it’s going to take all of us pitching in to help them recover. I’m proud to see our community rallying together with compassion and purpose.”

The donation drive is being held in partnership with Brainerd High School and the City of Chattanooga Office of Community Forward, led by Dr. Crystal Sorrells. Their collaboration has been essential in organizing this timely response and ensuring resources go directly to those in need, said officials.

Councilman Clark said, “We’re not just collecting supplies, we’re collecting hope. We’re sending a message that District 5 takes care of its own.”

Community members, churches, civic groups, and local businesses are all encouraged to participate. For more information, please contact Councilman Clark directly at (423) 241-5606 or via email at Dennis@Chattanooga.gov.
