Environmental Solutions (ES) and its operating company, The Heil Co., came together for a spirited charity softball game that proved to be a home run for hunger relief. Held Aug. 1 at the Fort Payne Sports Complex, the event brought team members together to raise critical funds and awareness in support of food security across the region.
The friendly matchup between Environmental Solutions and Heil was about more than competition, it was a powerful and united show of support for community members facing hunger.
In response to devastating federal funding cuts, both companies stepped up in a big way to help fill the gap:
• Environmental Solutions donated $10,336 to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, which serves 20 counties across Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia.
• Heil donated $10,257 to the Bread of Life, supporting local efforts in Alabama.
The Chattanooga Area Food Bank distributed nearly 17 million meals last year, yet demand continues to grow as more families struggle with the strain of rising living costs. These donations will help both food banks advance their mission of ensuring reliable access to nutritious food for those who need it the most.
“Our teams at ES and Heil are made up of passionate, hardworking individuals who bring their best to everything they do,” said Pat Carroll, president of ES. “This event was a powerful example of their heart, teamwork, and commitment to making a meaningful difference for our neighbors in need. Improving Lives is at the heart of our mission at ES, and that includes supporting our community in every way we can.”
The event featured family-friendly activities, a snow cone truck, and skills games, with attendees contributing through a $5 admission donation, making it easy for everyone to support the cause.
Environmental Solutions and Heil extend their heartfelt thanks to all who participated, donated, and cheered. Together, the community helped knock hunger out of the park.
