After another rainout on Wednesday evening the Chattanooga Lookouts swept their doubleheader against the Montgomery Biscuits on Thursday and have now won five straight.
In Game One starting pitcher T.J. Sikkema had another strong start going four innings and allowing just one run on two hits. In the second inning Ruben Ibarra hit his team leading fourteenth homerun with a solo shot in the second inning. Austin Hendrick followed Ibarra's lead with a solo shot of his own later in the inning to give Chattanooga a 2-1 lead. In the third, Cam Collier had an RBI single to extend the lead. Austin Callahan's sacrifice fly in the sixth inning turned out to be critical as closer Trevor Kuncl uncharacteristically gave up two runs in the seventh inning. The Biscuits had the bases loaded with the tying run on third inning when Kuncl struck out the final two hitters to secure the 4-3 victory.
In Game Two Edwin Arroyo singled home two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning for a dramatic 3-2 win. Arroyo reached base four times with two singles, two walks and the game winning two runs batted in. Chattanooga won despite collecting only four hits on the night. Carson Rudd moves to 3-0 on the year with two scoreless innings of relief.
The two teams will be back at it on Friday night in Chattanooga with a 7:15 start on Fireworks night.
