BRADLEY COUNTY SR-60 widening from the 4-lane north of I-75 (LM 17.2) to SR-306 (LM19.9): During this reporting period, the contractor will continue asphalt paving, final pavement markings, and finishing work throughout the project. HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at I-24 Interchange Reconstruction Phase 2: Nightly Lane closures will occur on this project, 9 PM to 6 AM, on I-75 North and South between Exit 1 (East Ridge) and Exit 3A (East Brainerd Road/ SR-320) and on I-24 East and West from Germantown Road to Spring Creek Road, MM182 to MM185, for various construction activities. These closures may temporarily reduce traffic to a single lane. Uniformed police officers will be present in these work zones to assist with traffic management and to enforce traffic laws. (Note: Overhead sign work will resume on I-75 (North and South) and on I-24 (East and West) between Sunday, August 17th and Thursday, August 21th. Nightly between 9 PM and 6 AM, traffic on interstates may be reduced to a single lane and/or rolling roadblocks used to temporarily stop traffic (15 minutes or less) while crews install signs or overhead structures. The entrance ramp from South Terrace (between S. Moore Road and McBrien Road) onto I-24 East is temporarily closed for approximately 3 weeks to facilitate road work that cannot be done under traffic. A new entrance ramp from South Terrace (between Belvoir Avenue and S. Moore Road) has been opened and detours to this new entrance ramp have been posted. The I-24 West entrance ramp at Germantown Road is closed for noise wall installation work that will continue for the next 2 to 4 weeks. Detours are posted for the ramp closure to an alternative entrance.) It may be necessary to do short duration (15 to 30 minutes) rolling roadblocks during the day or night for patching potholes, clearing debris or repairing guardrail, attenuators, etc. Portions of the left lane on North and South Terrace between Germantown Road and Spring Creek Road will remain closed for the installation of drainage structures, sanitary sewers, retaining and noise wall construction. The entrance and exit ramps to I-24 between Belvoir Avenue and Moore Road are currently closed (Note: A new entrance ramp from North Terrace to I-24 West is now open in this area. HAMILTON COUNTY SR-8 (RINGGOLD RD.) TDOT Contractor both directions at LM 5.04: Routine inspections of the Bachman Tunnels are scheduled for the overnight hours of Monday 8/18/25 and Tuesday 8/19/25. The north bore will be closed from 8 PM on 8/18/25 until 5 AM on 8/19/25. The south bore will be closed from 8 pm on 8/19/25 until 5 am on 8/20/25. Follow detour signs. Traffic will be detoured via Westside Drive, Shadowlawn Drive and South Seminole Drive.
HAMILTON COUNTY I-124 (US-27) from I-24 Interchange to South of the Tennessee River Bridge: Daily lane closures are possible between 9 AM and 3:30 PM as the contractor work along the ramps and 4th Street. HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at the Hamilton Place Mall interchange: The SR-153 southbound ramp to I-75 northbound has been reduced to one lane. Traffic shifts have been implemented on I-75 northbound, Shallowford Road entrance ramps, and Shallowford Road exit ramps and Hamilton Place Mall exit ramp. Hamilton Loop Road is closed for retaining wall construction and storm drainage installation between the intersections near Markman’s Jewelers and Texas Roadhouse. The contractor has implemented a traffic shift on Hamilton Place Blvd. shifting NB and SB traffic to the east side of the existing roadway from near the I-75 SB on-ramp to near Bams Drive for the installation of storm drainage. The contractor will maintain 1 lane of traffic in each direction throughout this area. The speed limit has been reduced on I-75 throughout the project limits. Nightly lane closures are permitted 8 PM to 6 AM. Motorists should use caution, paying attention to construction signage and watching for construction vehicles and personnel.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-317 (Apison Pike) improvement project from SR-321 (Ooltewah-Ringgold Road) to east of Layton Lane: Lane closures and flagging operations will be required on SR-317, Apison Pike, for bridge and grading work. The flagging operations will be performed on 08/14/25, 08/15/25, 08/18/25, 08/19/25 and 08/20/25 from 7 AM to 1 PM and 3 PM to 7 PM. Closures will last about 2 hours per location. The contractor will have intermittent flagging operations during daytime non-peak hours for bridge work, delivery of materials and equipment.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-8 [10.14-11.96] from Frazier Ave to Signal Mountain Blvd resurfacing: The contractor will be resurfacing Cherokee Blvd and Dayton Blvd (SR-8) between Frazier Ave and Signal Mtn Blvd. This work will be performed at night between the hours of 8pm and 6am. The traveling public can expect delays with lane closures and flaggers present. There will be temporary detours utilizing US-27 and Manufactures Road between 8/17/25 and 8/19/25. HAMILTON COUNTY SR-8 [8.97-10.14] from MLK to Frazier Avenue resurfacing: Contract crews will be working on Market Street overnight from Sunday through Friday, between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM local time, to minimize daytime traffic impacts. There will be no designated on-street parking during this work. This designation enables crews to resurface the entire asphalt roadway, including parking areas, while protecting nearby vehicles and ensuring safe, efficient operation of heavy equipment throughout the project. Drivers should obey the posted no parking signs. Violators are subject to tickets and/or towing. Drivers should expect lane closures and short detours around city blocks during overnight hours. There will also be a short daytime lane closure between 6th Street and 7th Street to allow the contractor to complete concrete repairs at the CARTA bus stop.

RHEA COUNTY SR-30 repair of bridge over Tennessee River: The contractor will be making repairs under the Tennessee River Bridge. The remaining work will require the contractor to shut the roadway down to one lane using flaggers or temporary traffic signals. Watercraft users should use caution when accessing the TWRA boating ramp under the bridge in Rhea County.
