Alice Sue Fleming McCullough
Alice Sue Fleming McCullough, 100, of Chattanooga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday August 13, 2025. She passed away peacefully in her sleep.
Born April 8, 1925, in Springfield, Mo., Sue was the daughter of Frank and Lucy Elkins Fleming. Sue resided in Soddy-Daisy for the last 35 years. She retired from GPS where she worked in the business office. Sue was a longtime member of First-Centenary United Methodist Church. She started a Sunday School class at the church in the early 1960s called the “The Special Class” for the intellectually disabled. Sue was instrumental with a group of other parents helping with the start of Orange Grove Center, and she volunteered on several committees for many years there.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, James Edwin McCullough.
Survivors are her children, Deborah McCullough and Allan McCullough; sister, Frances Fleming Stevenson; nieces, Sandie Dacus and Cindy Zeigler; sister-in-law, Betsy McCullough.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Aug. 16, from 12-1 p.m. at First-Centenary United Methodist Church. Services will be on Saturday, Aug. 16, at 1 p.m. at the church with Rev. David Harr officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
