The Jed and Jr. Show will shine the spotlight on the Union Gospel Mission in Chattanooga this Friday as it celebrates 75 years of service to the Tennessee Valley.
Officials said, "Since its founding in 1950, the Union Gospel Mission has been an invaluable nonprofit, ministering to the homeless and those in need throughout the region. Whether it’s a hot meal, a safe place to sleep, warm clothing or simply a compassionate ear for those who are hurting, the Mission has never forgotten its calling to care for the community."
“We are grateful to Jed and Jr for bringing awareness to the community of our mission and our needs,” said Executive Director Jon Rector.
“Our hope is that many will respond so we can continue meeting needs, making change and magnifying Christ.”
Listeners are encouraged to join in the celebration by donating nonperishable food items and warm clothing this Friday from 6-10 a.m. Donations can be dropped off at the lot next to Baylor School on Signal Mountain Road — the same location where Christmas trees and pumpkins are sold each year.
Officials said, "This giving-back event is made possible in part by Printing Expressions in Red Bank. Known for their slogan 'Print My Idea,' Printing Expressions can place your idea on anything from paper to apparel, including specialty items and trade show displays.
"Let’s celebrate 75 years of hope and service by helping the Mission continue its vital work for decades to come."
