City Taxpayers Are Getting The Shaft

  • Wednesday, August 13, 2025
I would like our City Council members to grow up and do the job the citizens elected them to do. I doubt most of us would grandstand and walk out of our jobs without some recourse.

I applaud Councilman Chip Henderson for making the tough decisions that are needed to fund the increase in our police and firefighters pay, but this should have been done earlier on the proposed budget that was passed.

Our Chattanooga mayor would like to fund all of this through a property tax increase.
However, most home and property owners are already taxed enough and adding more "goodies" to the tax rate isn't good fiscal responsibility or leadership.

Do your job and don't pass the buck to the taxpayer.
