Ms. Parnam will hold an event in conversation with Grace Helena Walz on Friday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. at The Book & Cover, 1310 Hanover St. in Chattanooga, celebrating the release of her book.

"With a captivating blend of Southern grit, magical realism and an empowering journey of self-discovery, "Bees in June" is a tender reminder of the healing power of community, second chances and the quiet magic all around us," officials said.

Tickets start at $10 without a book purchase, and can be purchased here.
Free tickets are available to those who are experiencing financial hardship.

"Elizabeth Bass Parman grew up entranced by family stories, such as the time her grandmother woke to find Eleanor Roosevelt making breakfast in her kitchen," officials said. "She worked for many years as a reading specialist for a non-profit and spends her summers in a cottage by a Canadian lake. She has two grown daughters and lives outside her native Nashville with her husband."
