Driver Charged With Felony Evading And Reckless Endangerment - And Other East Ridge Police Calls

25-008372 – 800 BLK S. Moore Road - Traffic Stop/Pursuit
Police observed a vehicle speeding and driving erratically westbound on Ringgold Road at approximately 65 mph. After making a U-turn and initiating a traffic stop, the driver failed to comply with instructions and continued driving, eventually running a red light at South Terrace. A pursuit ensued through several streets, including Brainerd Road and Old Mission Road. Despite the pursuit being terminated by the Sergeant due to public safety concerns, the suspect became trapped between civilian vehicles and a patrol car. Officers conducted a felony takedown, and the erratic driver was taken into custody without further incident. He was charged with Felony Evading and Reckless Endangerment before transport to the Hamilton County Jail.

Day Shift August 8: A Squad

25-008360-3600 BLK Ringgold Rd.- Disorder
Police were dispatched on reports of two males in a verbal argument. A caller stated he witnessed a male pick up money outside the west entrance of store. He claimed the money that was recovered was his. Police reviewed security camera video and determined the male did not take the caller’s money. The man apologized for the misunderstanding and both men went about their business.

25-008366- 1300 BLK Reeves Ave- Disorder
Police were requested to this address to assist a female in recovering her vehicle from her ex-boyfriend. The ex-boyfriend was respectful and accommodating toward the situation. The man produced the keys to the vehicle in question and the female left without incident.

25-008371- 1700 BLK John Ross Rd.- Well-Being Check-
Police responded to this address for the requested well-being check. A man advised his ex-wife had made threats may be drunk. On scene, police spoke with the woman who did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol. She denied the claims of threats and said she was dealing with the loss of a job and struggling to find resources.

25-008367 – 2000 BLK Pioneer Ridge Trail - Suspicious Activity
A woman requested police drive by her residence to verify if her son was at home. She stated that he, along with his family, moved out of the residence and broke-in, unreported, Tuesday to gather belongings. The caller stated that today he said he was going to stop by to get his mail. Upon police arrival, the subject’s truck was not observed.

25-0082244 - 3700 BLK Anderson Avenue - Recovered Firearm Supplement
Police spoke with a man who reported he found his Smith & Wesson 9mm while he was cleaning his home. The firearm was removed from NCIC.

25-008370 – 1700 BLK Keeble Street - Suspicious Activity -
An unknown caller reported that the convenience store was operating as normal despite being deemed condemned by the City of East Ridge. On scene, the owner advised she was simply renovating the store, and officers did not observe any sales being conducted. Code Enforcement was contacted as a precautionary measure.

Night Shift August 8: C Squad

25-008374 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Activity / Assist Other Agency
Police responded to an unconscious person complaint at the gas station. Officers located a woman sleeping in her vehicle. She was found to have an active arrest warrant through the City of Soddy Daisy. The woman was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail without
incident.

25-008384 – 4214 Ringgold Road - Suspicious Activity
Police met with two juveniles who stated they were being tracked with an air tag. The juveniles handed over a small electric module which appeared to be a tracking device. The reporting parties did not know who put the tracker on their vehicle. The device was placed in the EPRD Evidence Room for further investigation.

25-008385 – 3600 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Activity
A reporting party stated a male approached her car and asked her to play a game. The male suspect was dressed as a medical professional and had a stethoscope and a blood pressure cuff. The reporting party refused to play the game and the suspect left in a black Jeep style vehicle. Police responded to the area but did not locate the suspect.

25-008390 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Activity / Driving Under the Influence
Police located an occupied vehicle sitting in the middle of the roadway. Police determined the driver was under the influence of an intoxicating substance. Due to his uncontrollable erratic behavior, he was transported to a local hospital for medical care. Arrest warrants are pending for the charge of Driving Under the Influence.

25-008391- 3200 BLK Ringgold Road – Well Being Check
Police conducted a well-being check with a female sitting next to a beer box outside an empty business. Police identified the female and determined she was not intoxicated. The woman was checked for warrants and sent on her way.

25-008398 – 601 Justice Way – Warrant Service
While in custody at the Hamilton County Jail, a woman was served with five Forfeiture Capias warrants through the City of East Ridge. The original charges for the arrest warrants were Identity Theft, Criminal Impersonation, False Identification, Criminal Simulation, and Theft of Services.

25-008400 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Warrant Hold
While in custody at the Marion County Jail, a hold was placed on a party for active arrest warrants through the City of East Ridge.

Day Shift August 9: A Squad

25-008405 – 1100 BLK Altamaha Street – Disorder
Two neighbors engaged in a disorder over mowed grass blowing into the other’s yard. Both parties were advised to stay on their side of the property line and separate for the day.

25-008402 – 4100 BLK Monroe Street - Holdup Alarm
Police responded after the alarm was activated. Once on scene it was determined the fuel attendant accidentally pressed the button.

25-008410 – 1500 BLK S. Smith Street - Disorder Prevention
Officers stood by while a woman gathered her belongings from this address
in compliance with a Temporary Protection Order.

25-008406-1000 BLK Hibbler Cir.-Suspicious Vehicle
Police responded to this address on reports of a white truck that was at the resident’s home. An officer spoke with the resident who called in the activity. The resident claimed the man came to her door offering tree cutting services. The resident advised she had paid the man once before for services he never rendered. The caller brought this to the man’s attention and the man became
irate. The man cussed the resident and left.

300 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway - Animal Call
Police observed a large bird in the middle of Camp Jordan Parkway that appeared to be injured. Police attempted to contact multiple agencies to pick up the bird with no luck. Officers were able to apprehend the bird and transport it to the Chattanooga Zoo for care. The animal was identified as a
dehydrated fledgling Osprey.

Night Shift August 9: C Squad

25-008418 – 4300 BLK N Terrace, Chattanooga – Assist Other Agency
East Ridge Police located several construction barriers lying in the roadway on North Terrace. The barriers originally marked the entrance to a new on-ramp for Westbound I-24. Officers temporarily stopped traffic, moved the barriers, and restored the proper traffic pattern for the on-ramp.

25-008425 – 500 BLK Wando Drive – Suspicious Activity

A resident reported a loud banging noise near her home and described it as someone hitting a truck. Police checked the area but did not locate anything suspicious. While on scene, officers observed several loud noises from the adjoining roadways and Interstate 24, possibly connected to construction that had been ongoing for several years.

25-008426 – 700 BLK Germantown Circle- Disorder
Police responded to a domestic disorder at the apartment complex. On scene. Officers spoke with a woman who stated she and her husband had a loud verbal argument. The man left before Police arrived and there was no evidence of an assault.

25-008430 – 1000 BLK Spring Creek Road – Suspicious Activity / Arrest
Police observed an improperly parked vehicle sitting off the roadway. The officer approached the vehicle and found a party sitting in the driver’s seat. Upon further investigation, the driver was determined to be highly intoxicated and was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Day Shift August 10: A Squad

25-008434 – 4100 BLK East Ridge Drive – Disorder
A landlord requested police assistance with an unruly tenant who was in an unauthorized part of the house. The tenant agreed to stay in her room and try to cause less strain on her landlord.

25-008437 – 5300 BLK Connell Street - Unknown 911
Police responded to the house after a 911 hang up. After no response to door knocks, a child opened a window to speak with the police. The boy was on the speaker phone with his mother who said she was at work and would return in approximately an hour and a half. The child said he was having issues playing Roblox and accidentally dialed emergency services for help.

25-008438-1500 BLK Karwill Lane- Harassment
Police were dispatched to this address on reports of a harassment taking place. Officers spoke with a woman who stated she felt uneasy about her ex-boyfriend living close by. Police determined no harassment had taken place and advised her how she could get an order of protection.

25-008435 – 6200 BLK Ringgold Road - Backup EMS
Officers tended to an elderly woman who was experiencing the side effects of THC until EMS arrived on scene.

Night Shift August 10: C Squad

25-008444 – 5600 BLK Ringgold Road – Shots Fired / Arrest
Police responded to the report of shots fired in the parking lot of the restaurant. Officers determined that a disorder started in the restaurant involving several adult and juvenile customers. The disorder continued into the parking lot where a man pointed a handgun at another party and two teenagers. The suspect then fired one shot in the air before departing the area. Police utilized LPR data and a video to identify and locate the suspect. Police arrested the suspect and charged him with three counts of Aggravated Assault and one count of Reckless Endangerment.

25-008450 – 200 BLK Eads Street – Suspicious Person
The apartment management reported a disorder involving a non-resident. The management requested that party be trespassed from the property due to multiple disorders. The subject had left the area before ERPD arrived on scene. The management will call if he returns to the property.

25-008451 – 5300 BLK Ringgold Road – Disorder
Police responded to a disorder at the apartments. Officers determined that a man had a verbal argument with his brother concerning an ex-boyfriend. One stated that other was allowing the ex to stay at his apartment despite a valid TPO against him. Police were unable to locate the subject, and
the tenant was reminded of the TPO requirements.

25-008454 – 3300 BLK Gleason Drive – Civil Matter
The caller expressed concerns about his wife returning to his house. The RP has a valid TPO against the woman. He also reported that she has several items of his property that she refuses to give back. Police discussed property laws and told him to call if she returned to the residence.

25-008448- 6700 BLK Ringgold Road – Motor Vehicle Crash / Arrest
Police responded to the report of a vehicle crashing into the convenience store. Officers spoke with the driver and determined he was under the influence of alcohol. A passenger in the vehicle fled the scene but was later identified. Police located the passenger in a nearby parking lot and quickly
determined that he was also intoxicated. The driver was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence. The passenger was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication.

25-008464 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Warrant Service
While in custody at the Hamilton County Jail, a man was served with five arrest warrants through the City of East Ridge. The charges on the warrants were Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Attempted Carjacking, Possession of Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Aggravated Robbery, and
Aggravated Assault.

Day Shift August 11: B Squad

25-008151 – 1300 BLK Greenslake Rd – Supplement
A man reported that he believes his stolen orange 2002 Honda VT1100 is located inside the garage at this address disguised as a blue 2007 Harley Davidson. Officers have previously seen the bike from the driveway and found that the registration returns to a blue 2007 Harley Davidson but have
been unable to contact the homeowner despite multiple attempts.

25-008473 – 3400 BLK Gail Drive - Domestic Disorder
Initially, police responded to a possible burglary-in-progress after the complainant reported her ex-boyfriend came to her residence and attempted to force entry through a garage door. Prior to police arrival, the caller reported the subject left the scene and when officers arrived at the home and
spoke with the caller, she reported the man used a garage door opener to gain access to the garage area of the residence and attempted to force entry by hitting the door. Upon a retelling of her statement, she changed her account, stating she opened the garage door which enabled the man entry into the residence. The complainant requested information on how to obtain an order of protection but declined prosecution.

25-008474 – 1600 BLK S. Seminole Drive - Check the Well-being
A concerned relative requested police check on the status of the resident of this location after not receiving any communication from them in over a week. On scene, police contacted the party, who advised they were fine and would contact the caller.

25-008479- 1400 BLK St. Thomas Street- Disorder
Police responded to this address for a report of yelling. Contact was made with the parties who stated they had a verbal disagreement. One was holding their 3-month-old infant who appeared unharmed. No physical altercation was reported, and both parties were checked for warrants and released.

25-008487 – 1100 BLK John Ross Road - Deceptive Practice
The caller reported an unknown subject opened a water account with TAWC at a home he had not resided at since 2021. The complainant stated he was notified about the water account when he received a bill for it at his current residence.

Night Shift August 11: D Squad

25-008490 – 5400 BLK Ringgold Rd – Property
The caller wished to report that she left her wallet on the air pump on August 10th around 5-6 p.m. She stated that when she came back, she was unable to locate it. The owner stated that there was approximately $150 and identifying documents inside.

25-008496-1500 BLK Truman Ave-Harassing Threats
The caller reported that following an incident in Marion County, a male subject was harassing him and threatening him via social media. Police attempted to explain the harassment law, but the caller did not comprehend the limitation of the law. Once the police explained the subject could not be charged with harassment, the party began stating he wanted the subject charged with multiple other crimes. Police explained the charges he was wanting pressed against the subject were lacking probable cause, and he could not be charged. The caller was satisfied with a miscellaneous report.

25-008502 – 100 BLK Frawley Road - Auto Theft
THP recovered a stolen 1995 Dodge truck following a pursuit on I-24, which terminated on Mountain Creek Road and Creek Drive when the suspect crashed. The driver was transported to a hospital with injuries, and THP is seeking warrants against him for auto theft. East Ridge police informed the
victim of the theft and recovery of his truck and advised where to retrieve it.
