- Covenant Director of Athletics, John Hirte, has announced the hiring of Kali Walker as Assistant Athletic Trainer. Walker brings over seven years of experience in athletic injury prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation to the Athletics Department.
"I'm excited to have Kali join the Athletic Training staff. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will have an immediate impact on the student-athletes." said Head Athletic Trainer Ryan Clark. "She has a big heart for the Lord and is ready to dive spiritually into each athlete she works with."
Walker earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Valdosta State University in 2018.
Since then, she has served in a variety of athletic training roles, most recently with Calvary Christian School in partnership with Hughston Clinic and St. Francis Hospital. In this role, she provided comprehensive care for athletes in multiple sports, implemented injury prevention programs, coordinated rehabilitation protocols, and established a student intern program to mentor future athletic trainers.
Her professional background also includes work with the Hughston Clinic as a "floater" athletic trainer for Muscogee County School District, serving 12 middle schools and supporting football, volleyball, basketball, track, and soccer teams.
"I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity to be a part of the Athletic Training Program at Covenant College," Walker said. "I am really excited to work alongside Ryan and Mark with the athletic teams and connect with the athletes. My hope for this position is for God to use me to help mentor all athletes I have the opportunity to work with."
Walker holds certifications from the Board of Certification (ATC), Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT), and maintains BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
