Joe Jackson
Orange Grove Center announces Joe Jackson’s 15th year of service on the board of directors.
Mr. Jackson first connected with Orange Grove through a recommendation by longtime board member and friend Mike Barto. As someone not formerly connected with Orange Grove, he was impressed by the size and range of programs at Orange Grove. “I just couldn’t begin to imagine all the things Orange Grove did,” he said, reflecting on his experience after his first tour of the Center. “It was really enlightening to me.”
Officials said, "An established contributor to the Chattanooga community, Mr.
Jackson’s professional career includes 35 years in banking and sales, and 15 years working as an administrator at his church, Olivet Baptist. His commitment to Orange Grove has been strengthened by witnessing the work done at Orange Grove and inspired by the unique dedication and care of the staff."
“The staff is so strong over there,” he said. “They are so sincere with what they do and how they do it.”
Throughout his time at on the board of directors, Mr. Jackson said he has been particularly impressed by Orange Grove’s geographic expansion into North Georgia. He is hopeful about the opportunity to serve a broader community with further expansion through new group homes and programs that create greater opportunities for independence.
Beyond his work at Orange Grove, Mr. Jackson also runs the Joe Jackson Memorial Scholarship fund, supporting low-income students pursuing higher education.
"His passion and heart for service have made him a valuable member of the board of directors for 15 years, and we look forward to seeing the ways his vision and guidance inspire positive change at Orange Grove for years to come," officials said.
