Lee University’s Department of Behavioral & Social Sciences will host a guest lecture by Dr. Brian Howell in the Johnson Lecture Hall of the Humanities Center on Friday at 6 p.m.

Dr. Howell will discuss his recently published article on the undergraduate training of the renowned evangelist, Billy Graham, who after attending the former Bob Jones College in Cleveland, eventually completed his bachelor’s degree in anthropology at Wheaton College in Illinois.

According to Alan Wheeler, lecturer in anthropology at Lee, Dr. Howell’s talk will highlight the way Dr. Graham drew from an academic discipline that was most commonly associated with atheism, yet ultimately instrumental in the evangelist’s lifelong approach to faith, justice, and ministry to the world.

Dr. Howell is a professor of anthropology at Wheaton College and has written extensively concerning global Christianity, short-term missions, and relations between anthropology and Christianity.

This non-ticketed event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Mr. Wheeler at awheeler@leeuniversity.edu.
