HTI Employment Solutions is hosting a job fair Thursday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. at Abba’s House, 5208 Hixson Pike.
HTI is filling over 80 open positions at the new Plastic Omnium manufacturing plant. HTI is seeking forklift operators and assembly workers for temp-to-hire positions and maintenance technicians for direct hire positions.
Requirements for these positions include a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Automotive manufacturing experience is preferred but not required. Temp-to-hire positions start at $12.45 an hour, with direct hire positions beginning at $26.89 an hour.
The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics announced that unemployment rates in February decreased to 5.5 percent with over 8,000 positions filled in the manufacturing industry. Employment opportunities in manufacturing are growing nationally as well as locally—especially with Tier 1 suppliers to Volkswagen like Plastic Omnium, ramping up their efforts.
